What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise format that primarily focuses on movement control and improving core strength. Anybody can do Pilates. The scope of exercise is vast and can be tailored by a therapist to fit your specific needs. This is a key part in identifying key areas to improve. The session will also involve an introduction to some of the exercises and equipment available at Roland Jeffery Physiotherapy.

What machines do we use?

Roland Jeffery Physiotherapy has a studio specifically designed for Pilates. There are two popular Pilates machines known as the Reformer and the Wall Tower, which are not found in most gyms. The machines use spring resistance to challenge the body’s dynamic stability.  You can also do classical mat work and Swiss ball Pilates.
